Hey Reader, You can spend hours doing mobility drills, foam rolling and deep stretches to improve your mobility. But if you don't have the time, the energy or the know how to piece all of that together, its straight up overwhelming and seems impossible. Another route to full body mobility is connecting the dots through animal moves that integrate the entire body. Instead of isolating the hips, spine and shoulders, these patterns weave everything together into a more connected, coordinated way of moving. One of the simplest ways to get going with this is crawling. Now I crawl every day… but I was neglecting one pattern because I wasn’t very good at it. So a couple months ago, I added it back in. And yeah… it humbled me. But I’m getting better at it. And more importantly...so is my mobility.
This crawl pattern is what this week's video is all about. So if you want to wake up your body and feel more connected from head to toe, you're going to want to watch this video! P.S. Watch till the end to get access to a full follow along session! NEW S&C Program is LIVE on smoov!I used to spend way too much time on my training. It was scattered, time consuming and I would burn out often. Last year, I challenged myself by distilling my training down into a simple program that included strength, conditioning, primal movement and recovery into a 45 minute session. I've built a ton of connection, confidence and trust in my body through this style of training AND I've gradually been rolling it out on the smoov app. Yesterday I dropped S&C - Level 3. This blend of calisthenics, kettlebells, and primal movement along with isometrics and plyometrics is perfect for the mover who is ready to build their body up for all of life's demands. It's also a great framework for those participating in competitive or recreational sports. I used this stuff to get in great basketball shape after years away from the court. So if you're ready for the next step after Primal Foundations, something that will challenge you in all of the right ways, Check out S&C. There are 3 months of programming up there now and more on the way! You can find this program in the training programs section here along with all other smoov programs. And if you're ready to get going but are unsure where to start, I recommend getting started with the follow along program, Primal Foundations. Its 4 weeks of follow along sessions with me to rebuild your bodyweight foundation of strength, mobility and coordination. Enjoy this week's video and let me know if you have any questions about the smoov programs! stay smoov, Grant |

Yo Reader! It has been quite the week...I know that I'm only supposed to hit you with one link per email but there's just too much to update you on. So here we go! smoov X Strength Side Back in 2018, I met Josh from Strength Side in a coffee shop. We connected immediately over HUMAN movement. More recently, we connected over the natural process of aging and how fitness culture frames it as a bad thing...like its something you need to prevent or reverse. And we came up with a list of moves...
Push-ups used to give me a tight neck, painful shoulders and cranky elbows. I could do em, but they broke me down. I remember when I was working a marketing job in tech. Our startup was growing, and so was my waistline. It was't a ton of weight but I noticed it early and wanted to do something about it. I decided that I'd do 5 pushups for every sale that came in. At first, this was 30-50 pushups a day. But that quickly turned into 100-200 a day. I started sweating through my dress shirt but...
Last weekend, I guided a group of men through movement at a retreat. This wasn't a movement retreat, so I was brought in to facilitate a daily 1 hour practice that met the needs of the attendees. Now, the younger me would've tried to prove myself and my approach by putting together hard workouts with challenging and complex movements. But I've been doing this stuff long enough that I know its more about providing practices that are applicable to whoever I'm guiding. These guys were in their...
